Hyderabad: Bharat, India, is the land of the original story tellers. It is time we tell the world regarding stories from our perspective using the powerful medium of films said Sri Umesh Upadhyay, Director, Media division, Reliance Industries. He was speaking as the chief speaker in the 2nd edition of Kakatiya Film Festival held at Centre for Cultural Resources and Training on Dec 23rd 2018 by Samachara Bharati Cultural Association. Sri Rakesh Mittal, General Secretary of Bharatiya Chitra Sadhana spoke about the national level initiatives that are being taken by them and encouraged the film makers to create finesse in their work.

Sri Vinay Varma, screening committee member told the young film makers to invest in reading and keep ears to the ground so that films reflect reality.

Jury members, Usha Turaga and Sri Rahul Bamniya also gave their tips to the film makers.

4 top films from the 120 submissions were selected. On Dec 22nd the shortlisted films were screened.

  • PARO by Vijay Kumar got the Best short film award
  • RUPAYEE by Balasai Karthik was 2nd best short film
  • BAPA Ane BAPU ” by Aalap Tanna was awarded the 3rd best short film
  • Documentary ” SAMVEDANA LATUR” by Shashidhar Mutyala got the special        mention..

Dr. Gopal Reddy, President Samachara Bharati gave the introductory address and Sri Ayush, General Secretary of Samachara Bharati proposed vote of thanks.
